International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) 6th biennial eSim Conference PDF Print E-mail
Manitoba Hydro is pleased to announce they are the official Host of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) 6th biennial eSim Conference being held in Winnipeg at Manitoba Hydro Place from May 19 to 20, 2010.  Additional educational opportunities, pre-conference and post-conference workshops, will be held May 18 and 21, 2010.

IBPSA-Canada is a regional affiliate of IBPSA (also known as IBPSA-World), a non-profit international society of building performance simulation researchers, developers and practitioners, dedicated to improving the built environment.

The building industry, without a doubt, is one of the most important industrial and economical sectors influencing the quality of life and the environment. And yet, planners and property developers often pay very little attention during the design process to the life-cycle cost of owning and operating buildings.  Building Simulation offers the potential to cope adequately with building performance related concerns, as well as with the construction process. Increasingly, computer based modeling is being employed to aid in the design, operation, and/or the management decision-making process. The development, evaluation, use in practice and standardization of the computer-aided modeling is therefore of growing importance. IBPSA-Canada’s biennial conferences bring together professionals, academics and students interested in building performance simulation issues and applications from all over Canada and abroad.
